Can episodes be repeated?

Knowledge Base Article ID: 1 ( Try another search )

Headsprout provides the option to repeat the last completed episode. On your My Headsprout page, beneath the learner's start arrow are various options depending on where the learner is in the episode.

Repeat will allow the learner to redo the episode just before the highest episode completed.
Restart will allow the learner to start the current episode again from the beginning.
Continue will allow the child to resume an episode, at the beginning of the instruction interaction that was stopped. To ensure critical skills are learned, the "Continue" function is only available for 60 hours after an episode is stopped.

Headsprout Reading's instruction is cumulative, with frequent practice opportunities, so it is generally not necessary to repeat an episode. Even if it appears that your child has not "learned" a particular sound/letter combination in a single episode, she will have a number of chances to practice it in future episodes. We have carefully designed and tested each episode to ensure that a child who completes it is well prepared for success in the next episode. Most children look forward to the upcoming adventures and want to move forward in the program.
