Dr. Marta Leon
Director of Instructional Development
Marta Leon received her B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of Costa Rica, and her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Psychology from the Behavior Analysis program at West Virginia University.
Before joining Headsprout, Dr. Leon was an instructional designer at Morningside Academy, an innovative school that uses procedures derived from the learning sciences to help children reach their full academic potential.
During her tenure at Headsprout, she significantly contributed to the design and development of the Headsprout Reading Comprehension program and its accompanying materials, and as Director of Instructional Development she oversees the design and production of instructional programs and materials.
Dr. Leon has given presentations at numerous conferences, mainly addressing the development of reading and reading comprehension skills, and the analysis of complex behavior repertoires. Her current interests include the analysis of contingencies controlling intellectual skill development in individuals; applications of learning sciences to education; and empirical approaches to novel and complex behavior.
